Here is an art form that I was not aware of: anthill art! To do this you take molten aluminum or other such metallic or plastic compound and pour it into the cavity of an ant hill. When the substance cools down, it forms a solid that has the form (cast) of the spaces within the ant hill. This procedure is described in the video below where an aluminum cast was made of a fire ant colony.
The procedure destroyed all the ants, but bear in mind that fire ants are an invasive species that causes millions of dollars in loses to agriculture each year as well as damage to wildlife, farm animals, and humans.
